Jakes Story
THE LAST ECHO
"The music died in 1984... but its darkest echo survived."
In 1984, Jake Dark was never meant to be a hero.
The 1980's was a coming of age for Jake Dark, synth player and frontman for UK underground darkwave band
Danger After Dark.
The band never reached mainstream success, but in the Darkwave music scene their performances in Oxford's Smokey neon lit clubs were legendary.
Every performance seemed to attract strange silent figures dressed in black who never showed their faces. They called themselves The Frequency. They believed Jake's synthesizers produced harmonic frequencies capable of weakening the barrier between dimensions. Jake laughed it off. Until October 31, 1984.

THE FINAL GIG
On a rainy Halloween in 1984, after playing what would become Danger After Dark's final concert, Jake was approached backstage by a mysterious but strangely familiar figure dressed in black Victorian clothing. The masked stranger handed him an antique obsidian pendant engraved with strange runes.
"There will come a time"
the stranger whispered,
"when these songs will become history... and you will become their weapon".
Before Jake could ask another question, the club was consumed by an unnatural eclipse. Reality itself fractured as a wave of black energy erupted from the pendant, swallowing Jake whole.

AWAKENING
Jake awoke in the year 2084 and the world he knew no longer existed.
Towering skyscrapers had collapsed into rusted monuments. Endless rain stained the ash-covered streets. Neon signs flickered beneath permanent black clouds while eerie synth music drifted from abandoned speakers, as though civilization itself had refused to stop playing it.
Humanity had lost.
A supernatural plague called The Eclipse Rot had transformed billions into horrifying undead creatures that became stronger after sunset. Worse still were the Nightborn—monsters born from fear itself, feeding on despair and capable of manipulating shadows.
The world had become a darkwave nightmare.

LOST IN TIME
Jake was rescued by a resistance group known as The Black Signal, one of the last organizations fighting to reclaim humanity. They discovered something extraordinary. Jake's body hadn't merely survived time travel. The mysterious energy from 1984 had permanently altered him.
His heartbeat resonated at an impossible frequency that weakened supernatural creatures. His music—once entertainment—had become a weapon. Engineers rebuilt his beloved synthesizer into an experimental combat device known as the Obsidian Synth, capable of emitting sonic pulses that shattered undead flesh and disrupted demonic energy.
Stories spread across the wasteland. Some called him The Neon Hunter and others The Last Echo. To him he was just... Jake Dark.
A man lost in time fighting to survive.
THE NEON HUNTER
Despite becoming the greatest evil hunter alive, Jake never stopped searching for answers.
Why had he been transported to this future apocalypse?
Who was the mysterious but familiar figure that gave Jake the pendant?
Could the mysterious figure have been Jake himself?
Was he sent into the future by chance... Or had history always required a musician from 1984 to become the one man capable of fighting the darkness? Somewhere beyond the ruined cities lies the truth—and perhaps a way to return home. But Jake no longer knows if home even exists. Because after a century of endless night...
The future has become his stage where every hunt is one more encore against the darkness.
